Daylight Savings Time

The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005, passed by the U.S. Congress July, 2005, extended Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the U.S. by approximately four weeks. As a result, beginning in 2007, DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end one week later on November 4, 2007, resulting in a new DST period that is four weeks longer than previously observed.

This change requires several updates on servers and workstations alike. Even if you have Automatic Updates configured, there may still be updates needed. Customers that have Windows Server Update Services implemented will receive the initial updates automatically, but verifying update status is recommended. If you are running Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook in your organization, then there will be additional updates that need to be run manually. If you are interested in learning more about keeping your network automatically updated with WSUS (Windows Server Update Service), please contact us and we can explain the advantages.
